Court Operations Associate, Housing Court, Hennepin County 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars 300 6th Street South, Minneapolis, MN 55487 Hennepin County District Court invites qualified applicants for a Court Operations Associate position assigned to the Civil Division-Housing Court. Housing Court is a specialty court involving landlord-tenant disputes, such as evictions. Court Operations Associates work individually and in teams using independent judgment along with available resources to perform a variety of administrative assignments that require dedication to providing excellent customer service, strong attention to detail, and technological skills to match our fast-paced, high-volume, electronic environment. This AFSCME-represented position is classified as Court Operations Associate. Housing Court is located on the third floor of the Hennepin County Government Center at 300 South 6th Street, C-300, Minneapolis, MN 55487. Core business hours are 8:00 a.m

m., Monday-Friday, but hours may vary depending on business needs. Staff in this position work primarily onsite. The relative amount of onsite versus remote work may change depending on business needs. Training is done onsite. Limited remote work opportunities are available to trained staff, depending on business needs. A reliable internet connection will be required if working remotely. Example of Duties Examples listed below may not reflect all duties performed. Provide excellent customer service by assisting and communicating with court users in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner to ensure the customer's needs are effectively met in person, over the phone, or through electronic means. Provide courtroom support by working and corresponding with judicial officers, court reporters, justice partners, and court customers to effectively manage court calendars and meet the business needs of the court. Accurately complete administrative work in an office and courtroom environment by performing high-level case processing, data entry, and financial transactions for housing cases utilizing court technology. Coordinate, communicate, and collaborate with team members to ensure daily work assignments and case processing are completed efficiently and accurately. Review and process all filings for timeliness, statutory compliance, and proper document security as required by local and courtwide policies and procedures.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Below are the past experiences that will enable success in the role. For education requirements listed, the equivalent number of years of related experience may serve as a substitute.
Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year of relevant job experience OR equivalent amount of post-high school education and experience totaling one year.
Examples of relevant job experience:
customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new material and concepts. Experience using Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, or other electronic document applications, with the ability to learn other job-related software. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with court staff, court partners, judicial officers, and the general public. Ability to meet commitments and keep projects on task. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve desired results. Effective customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to de-escalate difficult customer interactions and work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and working experience with Minnesota case management system (MNCIS), eFile and Serve (eFS) and SharePoint. Courtroom experience. Experience exercising independent judgment to perform a variety of tasks in a professional manner. Experience working independently and as part of a team to achieve desired results. Experience conducting financial transactions in the workplace.
SALARY:
The expected starting salary for external candidates is at least $21.00 per hour and may be higher depending on qualifications. Pay will be determined in compliance with the AFSCME contract. Starting salary range for candidates is $20.43
  • $27.42 per hour ($42,657
  • $57,252 annually). The full salary range for this position is $20.43
  • $34.41 per hour ($42,657
  • $71,848 annually).
This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of Minnesota employee benefits.
