Additional Expectations:
Develops plans to accomplish work operation and objectives; arranges and assigns work to use resources efficiently. Communicates information to individuals or groups; clearly and concisely conveys written information orally or in writing to individuals or groups to ensure that they understand the information and message. Listens and responds appropriately to others. Establishes expectations and clear direction to meet goals and objectives of ongoing work for a group of employees. Observes and assesses work, provides feedback; establishes a culture of safety for employees and ensures that work processes are free from safety and health hazards, and the employees are properly trained. Class A CDL required with N endorsement. Safety toe footwear is required. Either possession of a current Commercial Driver's License on the date of hire, OR the North Carolina Commercial Driver's License must be obtained through completion of on-the-job training and all requirements mandated by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (Federal Registry 49 CFR 383) within 360 days of the date of hire. The selected candidate must be able to legally operate CDL required equipment/trucks with both manual and automatic transmissions at the time of hire or within 360 days of hire date. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience." High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of progressive experience in the repair of vehicles and/or equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualifications May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.
