Job Overview:
This hybrid role blends the precision of a Technical Service Coordinator with the hands-on expertise of a Field Technician. You'll be the crucial link between field operations and customer support, responsible for coordinating service calls, managing equipment logistics, scheduling field teams, and stepping into the field to install, troubleshoot, and maintain integrated electrical systems. Primary Responsibilities:
Project & Service Coordination Dispatch and schedule service technicians using Outlook and Q360. Monitor incoming service requests and helpdesk tickets; follow through to resolution. Submit purchase requests for necessary equipment and track deliveries. Coordinate submittal packages, project documentation, RFI submissions, and change orders. Attend and participate in project kickoffs, progress check-ins, and close-out meetings. Customer Service & Communication Serve as a knowledgeable, responsive point of contact for internal teams and external clients. Provide clear, timely communication on project milestones and service updates. Build positive relationships with customers by providing solutions and follow-up support. Deliver pricing proposals and promote ECC Support Agreements. Field Technician Responsibilities Install and service low voltage systems including AV, access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm systems, and nurse call systems. Perform system diagnostics, cable pulls, terminations, and troubleshooting onsite. Ensure accurate equipment installation based on job specs and scope of work. Document site conditions, materials used, and service performed. Maintain tools, equipment, and jobsite safety standards. Travel to multiple job sites to perform high-quality installations. Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Shipping, and Service teams for seamless project execution. Mentor and train junior techs as needed; grow into project ownership responsibilities. Project Execution & Closure Complete tasks within project timelines and budgets. Support project documentation submission and project closure processes. Deliver and archive Certificate of Completion and Operations & Maintenance manuals. Participate in post-project reviews to evaluate process improvement opportunities. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (Q360 preferred). Ability to read and interpret scopes of work, blueprints, and system schematics. Excellent multitasking, time management, and organizational skills. Comfortable working with tools, ladders/scaffolding, and light physical labor. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset. Strong communication skills and customer service orientation. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Electronics or related field preferred. 1+ year of experience in low voltage installation, electrical, or construction-related work. Certifications such as NICET, CTS, or FA Inspector/Installer License are a plus. Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment drug test. Physical & Travel Requirements Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs as needed. Occasional overnight travel (up to 5%) to ECC regions.
