  • Job Overview:
  • We are seeking a detail-oriented Coder for a busy surgical practice to join our healthcare team.
As a Coder, you will play a crucial role in the medical billing process, ensuring timely and accurate payment for medical services provided to patients. This position requires a strong understanding of medical coding, billing systems, and regulatory requirements. A strong knowledge of Ambulatory Surgery billing. A strong knowledge of Workmans Compensation and Personal Injury billing. Must have Excell spreadsheet experience along with basic account skills.   • Duties:
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely medical claims to insurance companies, government agencies, and other payers.
  • Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding and billing.
  • Utilize ICD-10 and HCPC's coding systems to assign relevant codes to medical procedures and diagnoses.
  • Billing Workmans Compensation and Personal Injury claims.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform medical collection activities to recover outstanding patient balances.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure seamless patient care.
  • Stay current with changing regulations, such as DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) and Medicare billing requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve billing-related issues, including appeals and denials.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with payers, ensuring optimal reimbursement rates.
  • Collaborate with other medical office staff to ensure efficient and effective billing processes.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of medical coding and billing systems.
  • Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, HCPC's, Ambulatory Facility, billing and coding systems.
  • Experience with medical collection processes.
  • Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) and Medicare billing requirements.
  • Knowledge of medical billing software and systems.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
