    Quality Control Inspector
Coatings II Position Reports To:
Regional Quality Manager Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring that the inspection requirements with supporting documentation and submittal of reports for the project are completed thoroughly and accurately, submitted on a timely basis and properly controlled. The Level II role is to work with the project team to ensure the successful completion of a project. Essential Functions Read and understand a specification, Scope of Work Documents and isometric drawings and line lists. Read and understand a product or technical data sheet (PDS/TDS) and a material Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Has a detailed working knowledge of all industry cleanliness standards
  • SSPC, NACE, ISO
    Demonstrates working knowledge of inspection tools and equipment, including how to calibrate and maintain in accordance with associated standards. Dry Film Thickness Gauge
  • Type 1, Type 2 Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Micrometer with Replica Tape or Digital Profile Gauge Sling Psychrometer with Psychrometric Tables or Digital DPM Gauge
SSPC VIS
Standards
  • VIS 1 and Vis 3, specifically SSPC PA-2, calibration requirements and area measurements Tests for Non-Visible Contaminants
  • (Ex. Sleeve Test) Test for Conductivity Vial Test Needle Pressure Gauge Blotter Test Ratio Testing for Plural Component Coating Systems Test for Hardness Holiday Inspection
  • Low Voltage, High Voltage Accurately reports required testing information to supervising inspector.
Supports and oversees Level I Inspectors, including review of reports prior to submittal. Audits, plans, supervises inspection work including completing daily inspection reports, filing, and submit reports on a timely and accurate basis for approval. Effectively communicates with supervising inspector or Area Quality Manager, Project Manager and in certain projects the Customer representative. Conducts and documents inspection tests with an understanding of acceptance criteria. Manages material storage conditions and inventory. Follows project documentation control procedure and maintain quality documentation. Assist and support submitting RFI's, resolving NCR's and providing CAR's when needed. Verify the validity of testing results and release hold points to ensure specification compliance. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience 3+ years' experience in the field of industrial coatings and linings industry. Minimum High School education with demonstrated ability to read, comprehend, write competently, and possess basic math skills. Must hold a current NACE Level 2 certified credential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of common coating types, characteristics including curing mechanisms. Possess working knowledge of the standards associated with testing requirements. Has inspection experience in the following project coating systems: Atmospheric Coating Systems
  • Touch-Up and Complete Systems Internal Linings High Temperature Systems Demonstrated practical and technical knowledge of Apache disciplines with the ability to expertly execute inspection requirements.

Coating Systems under Insulation Demonstrated ability to work within Microsoft Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint. Work Conditions/Physical Demands Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds. No adverse environmental conditions expected. Travel Requirements
  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed.
Requirements Able to properly wear and maintain respiratory equipment when needed. Able to properly wear and maintain harness and lanyards, including climbing structures and scaffolding for access purposes Ability to work in confined spaces Able to tolerate and work in inclement weather conditions .
