Job Description The Accounting Clerk will specialize in managing the accounts payable (A/P) process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices. Additionally, this role will serve as a backup for accounts receivable (A/R), assist with credit card reconciliations, and provide administrative and financial reporting support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and a collaborative team player. Responsibilities Accounts Payable (Primary Focus) Manage the entire A/P process, including: Receiving and verifying invoices for accuracy and compliance. Obtaining proper approvals for payment. Entering invoices into the accounting system. Preparing and processing payments, including checks, credit card payments, and electronic transfers. Reconcile credit card transactions monthly, ensuring accuracy, and proper documentation. Maintaining organized and up-to-date vendor files and payment records. Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies or issues promptly. Accounts Receivable & Financial Support Train in and serve as a backup for A/R, including invoicing, payment posting, and customer account management. Assist in generating and distributing financial reports as needed. Support ad hoc financial projects and analyses as directed by the Finance Manager. General Accounting & Administrative Tasks Maintain accurate general ledger entries. Reconcile other accounts as needed. Provide administrative support to the finance team, including filing, data entry, and maintaining accounting records. Assist with compliance reporting and audits. Collaboration Work closely with other departments and managers to ensure accurate coding of expenses and resolve any accounting discrepancies. Serve as a key point of contact for A/P-related inquiries, both internally and externally. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of e-commerce or online retail industry is a plus.
