General Summary:

As a Support Engineer at Qualcomm, you will significantly contribute to our product improvement and work with other Engineers to sustain aspects of our product development life cycle. Support Engineers will also play a critical role in resolving technical system issues that promote product reliability. You will have endless opportunities to learn and grow in the Engineering development space. Qualcomm's Automotive Telematics Team is seeking an individual with experience in the following areas:

Hardware Design Verification:

The Design Verification Testing(DVT) of the RF and Baseband systems contained in today's mobile wireless products Data mining: The analysis and documentation of the DVT data sets

Test Stations:

The maintenance of the Auto Team's Lab, DVT Test Stations & Equipment Helping HW debugging and collecting QXDM log

RF Transmit and Receiver Matching:

Network Analyzer based skills including reference plane establishment and SMITH Chart usage for topologies consisting of discrete shunt & series elements HW re-work and generate re-work instructions

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience. OR Associate's degree and 5+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience. OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
• Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master's = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field. 2G/3G/4G/5G mobile transceivers and 3GPP's performance testing The Global Navigation Systems in a mobile device Wireless connectivity in a mobile device: WLAN 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth The baseband systems in a mobile device: Power, Memory Types, Sensors, Imaging, Audible sound in/out, Display, USB, Reference Clocks, and UICC Transmission lines, Power Integrity, and Signal Integrity

Buses:

PCIe, CAN, Ethernet, SDIO, I2C, LVDS, SPI, GPIB Hands-on lab experience that encompassed Design Development, Design Analysis & Debug, and Design Verification Testing

PC Tools:

QRCT, QPST, QXDM, JTAG, ADS

PC Skill:

Windows files and systems, various basic OS settings, installing/updating drivers, Ethernet settings

Microsoft Tools:

EXCEL, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneNote Soldering & rework skills at small scale (0201) Ability to communicate clearly, organize effectively and document work thoroughly Strong desire to be a contributing member of a multi-disciplined world-class collaborative Automotive Product Design & Development Team Skills in RF domain: Impedance, VSWR, reflection, loss, attenuator, mixer, combiner, power meter, spectrum analyzer Ability to read and fully interpret electrical schematics, block diagrams, layout drawings, assembly drawings, and Bill of materials

Roles/Responsibilities:

Closely working with telematic HW platform development team to support development activity Setup for RTS and DTS bench and function verification

Hardware Design Verification:

The Design Verification Testing(DVT) of the RF and Baseband systems contained in today's mobile wireless products Generate test results using Data mining : The analysis and documentation of the DVT data sets The maintenance of the Auto Team's Lab, DVT Test Stations & Equipment Maintain RF bench calibration and bench setup for specific testing Helping HW debugging and collecting QXDM log RF Transmit and Receiver Matching HW re-work and generate re-work instructions

Level of Responsibility:
