Overview:

Our purpose is to be the solution when every second matters, and we are looking for a Receiving Quality Assurance Specialist to be part of that solution! The Receiving Quality Assurance Specialist works within Nomad's campus, receiving, inspecting and documenting parts and materials that align to Nomad's quality management requirements and regularly conducts incoming inspection, documents non-conformances, and maintains quality documentation across all Nomad projects. Essential Functions /

Responsibility:

• Implement and execute Nomad's incoming inspection procedures.
• Conduct visual inspection of incoming parts/materials.
• Integrate closely with Nomad's Quality Assurance department.
• Support product returns/replacements due to non-conforming/damaged parts.
• Maintain documentation of all incoming Certificates of Conformance and material certifications.
• Support ISO compliance and supplier metrics/scorecards as developed.
• Coordinate quality control requirements with vendors and buyers as necessary.
• Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries.
• Maintain traceability of products, label products, and place them accordingly.
• Handle returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.
• Support Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR).
• Update electronic records and maintain records retention using electronic and hardcopy filing systems.
• Perform data entry, faxing, scanning, telephone conversations, and other duties as requested, clerical, and non-clerical.
• Promote and participate in a safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Knowledge Desired:

• Learn the daily requirements of working within a team environment (safety, cleanliness, timeliness, honesty, integrity, teamwork,) and assist in strengthening yourself and the team in adherence to these principles.
• Have a basic understanding blueprints, drawings, geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and model-based definitions (ASME Y14 standards).
• Have good communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Be able to correctly enter data into computer systems and keep that information correctly documented and filed on paper.
• Be able to manage own time around others' schedules.
• Efficiently complete tasks based on priority.
• Be skilled at internet/web searches and researching companies' credibility, products, prices, etc.
• Be willing, on a limited basis, to travel as needed by Management.
• Be willing to accept training on safely operating forklift and other warehouse machinery.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and is occasionally required to sit.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.
• The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish individual colors.

Working Environment:

• Regular interacting with other Nomad departments.
• The work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside will be required.
• The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.
• The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time, which will be provided.
• There is some exposure to strong odors and fumes.
• All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times in manufacturing areas.

The employee will be required to wear provided safety eyewear throughout the performance of their duties.

Qualifications & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED. Additional education preferred.
• Experience in demonstrating knowledge, interpretation, and application of quality control practices.
• Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• 45-50 WPM typing with 10-Key (adding machine / calculator)
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must have good communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Must be willing to listen, learn, and follow instructions.
• Previous forklift experience helpful but not required (training provided).
