The Communication Architectures Department performs trade studies,
analyses, and simulations to optimize the overall communications performance
of satellite, launch vehicle, and ground-based systems. We define,
develop, and analyze robust communications architectures and develop
communications analysis tools and prototypes of communications architectures.
This effort includes evaluating performance of alternative communications
architectures with specific attention on communications parameters such as
alternative modulation and coding combinations, RF band selection based upon
propagation characteristics and spectrum considerations. Our multidisciplinary
staff defines the architectures to ensure cutting edge, state of the art
high performance communications and coordinates the activities of related
engineering specialties to ensure that mission objectives are achieved
We are seeking a Communication Architectures Section Manager who will lead the
Architecture Modeling and Analysis Section of the Communication Architectures
Department. The Architecture Modeling and Analysis Section includes half a
dozen engineers in El Segundo, CA as well as Colorado Springs, CO.
Work Model:
This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA, Chantilly, VA, or Colorado Springs, CO, offering a hybrid work model that combines four regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow. What You'll Be Doing Provide technical leadership and management oversight to the members of the Architectures Modeling and Analysis Section Lead communication architectures-related analysis and evaluation tasks for SSC, NRO, civil, and commercial customers among others Interface with program offices, define tasks and schedules, build technical teams, and manage those teams Coordinate and collaborate with Aerospace personnel within and outside of the department to solve technical problems Recruit and hire new staff, provide mentorship for technical and career development, ad conduct performance reviews for direct reports Identify, pursue, and execute new business activities What You Need to be SuccessfulMinimum Requirements:
Degree from an accredited university in electrical engineering or related discipline Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience Strong background in communication systems, architectures, and networks Demonstrated ability to optimize architectures based on analysis, system design, RF, modulation and coding and network parameters Project development experience and demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams Strong customer interface and teamwork skills with experience in fast- aced environments. Track record in presenting results and organizational management This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government.
