Sun-Tues 6:30pm-5am or Wed-Saturday 6:30pm-5am Benefits of the yard jockey: 401(k) with company contribution Paid vacation and holidays Career growth opportunities Comprehensive healthcare benefits Service recognition and employee rewards Tuition reimbursement Uniforms provided Access to wages on-demand Duties of the yard jockey: Operate shuttles to move trailers to and from various loading docks Receive instructions via radio and shuttle trailers to meet logistical needs Perform daily maintenance checks and report any truck issues Document all trailer moves and submit move sheets at shift end Fuel yard truck as needed Couple and uncouple tractor-trailer units, connect/disconnect brake lines Perform DOT safety inspections on trailers Complete all necessary paperwork and secure equipment at shift's end Requirements of the yard jockey: High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience as a Yard/Hostler required Valid Class A CDL and DOT certifiable Strong math skills (whole numbers, fractions, decimals) Ability to stand, walk, and climb in/out of trailers throughout shift Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather Overtime and holiday work may be required Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team Clean driving record and able to pass pre-employment screens (drug, background, and criminal checks)
