Layout Designers work with heavy autonomy in a team atmosphere with other design experts who collectively produce publications according to their sphere of expertise. The role of a layout designer reports to the Art Director to ensure clarity of brand standards across publications. This is a remote role, but residency in Kansas City is still required. This individual must possess the following skills: The candidate must be well versed in Adobe Creative Cloud. Specifically, our team works primarily in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop Creative Cloud. Strong communication skills are necessary. Our designers need to communicate effectively and clearly with individuals who may be unfamiliar with design formats and terminology. Work experience is not required for this position, however a strong visual portfolio is a must. The ability to multi-task and accomplish jobs quickly. The desire to work in a fast paced environment. A creative mind with a highly-developed visual sense. Ability to adapt to growth within our rapidly expanding company. Self-induced initiative is greatly desired. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Open to constructive criticism. Editorial layout experience desired.

Job Requirements:

Degree in graphic design or comparable work experience with demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud is a must. Residence in the Kansas City area. The ability to quickly create effective layouts for print. Ability to anticipate and stay abreast of design trends. A sense of accountability for the projects you oversee.
