Role:
The Talent Development Specialist fosters learning, employee engagement, talent management, and employee development to drive organizational performance, productivity, and results. This role will specifically support our Branch Operations and MSC teams. The Talent Development Specialist will develop and create learning tools and deliver high quality experiences using both in person and virtual settings to unleash employee potential and driving organizational results by creating processes, systems, and frameworks that advance training and development strategies, succession planning and learning opportunities. This position is responsible for the development of key communications to support the culture and brand of Bay Federal. The Talent Development Specialist works closely with cross-functional partners and subject matter experts to develop key products and process educational materials.
Scheduled Weekly Hours:
This is a full-time, hybrid, position working 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm. The employee will complete 90 days of training onsite in Capitola and then may work 3 days per week remote following a successful training period. This role will visit our branch locations so reliable transportation is necessary. What you'll be doing: Design, implement, and manage engaging learning programs for branch ops managers and MSC management for their direct reports by utilizing AI tools, learning platforms, and microlearning. Works closely with the VP of member services to deliver monthly meetings that engage, develop, provide updates, and training on branch operational topics. This includes, but is not limited to, hosting the meeting, creating all deliverables, coordinating guest speakers, and more as assigned. Works with cross-functional business partners and SME's to develop materials, build relationships with managers and employees for one-on-one coaching. Provide on-location coaching and development to enable effective coaching of the branch teams in the day-to-day delivery of services to members. Support the employee onboarding process, including virtual and in person new hire orientation learning experiences. Develop and assist in managing the development paths for MSRs, including instruction on workshops, keeping content up to date, and ensuring presentations are engaging and in trend with current training methods, while evaluating employee progress and job readiness. Maintain a process for receiving feedback from managers and employees on content and value of all workshops and shadow experiences and adjusting as needed along the way, while maintaining the highest service level and improving effectiveness and efficiencies through feedback. Deliver training materials through a variety of channels including in person, virtual, job shadowing, workshops, webinars, videos, and easily accessible self-paced courses. Ensure all branch and MSC content is up to date, including, online binders, QRGs, BayConnect pages, workshop presentations, and VP requests. Administers the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring accuracy of courses for skills and compliance-based training. Manages monthly report processes and collaborated with management to ensure required courses are completed by all employees within a defined timeframe. Partner with department heads to identify training needs and provide targeted development solutions for the branches and MSC. Partner with the MSC management team to deliver a monthly meeting that engages, develops, and provides a refresh on requested training from one department at a time. This includes, but is not limited to, hosting the meeting, creating all deliverables, coordinating the guest speaker, and more as assigned. Assist on developing and updating training materials and recordings as needed for the MSC, such as recording new material, updating presentations, verifying all information is up to date with the department manager and loading new content into LMS and Intranet resource sites. Deliver the Credit Unions All Staff meetings. This can include developing content, partnering with stakeholders, managing calendars, arranging speakers, all necessary communication to attendees and guests, filming with host department, and technology.
You're Perfect For This Role If You Have:
Minimum of three years banking experience is required, preferably in a supervisorial or leadership role. Demonstrated ability to cultivate sales and service ability in other individuals. Strong knowledge of banking operations is required. Proven ability to manage talent development programs in a financial related institution. Must have proven experience in effectively managing, teaching, mentoring and coaching adult learners on a one-on-one or small group basis. Demonstrated presentation skills for larger groups required. Demonstrated experience using multiple computer programs, including Microsoft Office and core banking systems. Program, project and/or vendor management experience is preferred.

For Santa Cruz, CA only, the pay scale Bay Federal reasonably expects to pay for this position is $68,640 - $77,680 annually. Salaries are based on the geographic location in which you live if working remotely. Paid time off is accrued per paycheck for eligible employees at a rate based on your tenure. Leaves of absences are available in adherence with state and federal regulations.
