  • Operations to provide field research support in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. The Field Coordinator
  • Operations will have a focus on general operations and administration.
Responsibilities:
Assist with Kangerlussuaq operations, working directly with the Site Supervisor. Oversee lodging reservations, coordination with KISS management, assigning rooms, allocating keys, and maintaining housing/muster list. Complete real-time updates to the program master tracking database for travel changes due to field delays. Allocate communications gear to researchers, providing general training as required. Assist with office coverage to ensure a consistent presence for participant assistance. Assist with check-ins from field teams. Provide briefings to research teams and staff, including orientation and recreational travel. Assist with general operations, to include passenger transport, clothing allocation and tracking, and site familiarization. Assist with vehicle support, to include operation of equipment in work centers and outdoors. Track fuel purchases for reconciliation. Assist with inventory and tracking. Assist with sample handling and storage. Coordinate with Kangerlussuaq Site Supervisor for staffing support and other tasking issues. Participate in daily planning meetings. Cross-train with team to assist with rotating needs. Cover 24 hr phone as needed. Deploy to field camps or villages as required to assist operations or research teams. Interact with the local community to coordinate services or obtain supplies.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Valid Driver's License issued in the United States. Three years' experience in a combination of the following is required: customer service, customer resolution, administrative duties, reporting and data management. Strong computer skills. Possession of current and valid US passport.
COVID-19
Vaccination Preferred:
Previous experience with remote site and/or polar logistics operations. Experience with sewing and field gear repair.
Benefits:
Competitive weekly pay: $1,227
  • $1,388 Health and welfare benefit: $4.
22/hour for the first 40 hours worked each week Opportunity to explore the Arctic and contribute to important scientific research
Schedule:
Seasonal position with a minimum of 54 hours of work per week.
Anticipated deployment period:
