Livestock Operations Coordinator 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 4655 North Humboldt Street, Denver, CO 80216 The National Western Stock Show is currently seeking a Livestock Operations Coordinator to join the Livestock Team and provide year-round support towards putting forth a high-quality program during the annual Stock Show. Overview As the Livestock Operations Coordinator, you will report directly to the Senior Director of Livestock Operations and support them in fulfilling the duties of the NWSS Livestock Department, including carrying out the Livestock Show programming each January during the National Western Stock Show. The Livestock Operations Coordinator will represent the National Western Stock Show while working with a multitude of individuals and associations in support of the organization's vision and mission. The ideal candidate will have experience in the field of agriculture, livestock shows, and/or youth organizations related to agriculture, as well as a working knowledge of various types of livestock. To be successful in the role, candidates will need a strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and be a self-starter.

Senior Director of Livestock Operations Roles & Responsibilities Performs a variety of administrative and operational tasks as directed, including managing livestock entries, creating show schedules and class breaks, and coordinating barn turnovers. Orders and maintains inventory of office supplies, awards, ribbons, banners, passes, badges, back numbers, trailer releases, signage, etc. Processes/fills DNA orders and exhibitor entries. Prepares exhibitor packets pre-Show. Provides superior customer service when representing the National Western Stock Show while working with Breed Associations, Exhibitors, Show Officials, Judges, Sales Managers, and Superintendents. Maintains positive working relationships with Staff, Volunteers, Interns, and Committee Members. Works closely with the Vice President, Senior Director of Livestock Operations, NW staff, and Volunteer Liaison & Assistant Liaison to prepare for smooth and enjoyable livestock shows and sales. Assists the Senior Director of Livestock Operations in the oversight of and delegation to the department's interns during Stock Show. Ensures all interns receive a quality educational experience and leave highly satisfied with their time at National Western. Assists the Senior Director of Livestock Operations in working with 20+ Breed Associations and their staff by coordinating entries and corrections, addressing Show needs, maintaining schedules, and coordinating sales/special events, premium payouts, and rule changes. Oversees all communications with Catch-A-Calf participants, including making clinic preparations and scheduling monthly calls. Assists with the planning of calf presentation events. Attends all Livestock Committee meetings and takes minutes. Distributes minutes to appropriate parties after each meeting. Promptly responds to all Livestock-related inquiries, involving the Senior Director of Livestock Operations as needed. Skills & Abilities Must have previous experience working in agriculture, livestock shows, and/or youth organizations related to agriculture. Previous experience working within livestock show entry systems strongly preferred. High school diploma or equivalency required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail. Exhibits strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills. Capable of managing schedules, working under deadlines, and working with the NWSS team as a whole. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Must have quality people skills, as well as the ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times. Must have a passion for the agricultural industry and the important work it does. Familiarity with the National Western Stock Show (specifically our Livestock Show) is strongly preferred. Must possess a valid Driver's License, have a clean motor vehicle record, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. Physical Demands National Western Complex is a multi-purpose indoor and outdoor commercial and agricultural complex where dusty conditions and animals may exist. While performing the duties of this job, work is performed both indoors and outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind, and rain, as well as on varied surfaces. Our employees must be able to work indoors and outdoors with regular and prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures, must be comfortable working at heights and be able to work around moving machinery and equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 25 pounds. Scheduling Requirements While the schedule for this position is primarily Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, there will be certain occasions in which early morning, late evening, weekend, or holiday availability will be required to perform the essential functions of this position. Like almost all NWSS team members, this position will need to be on-site every day during Stock Show, typically for 12-16 hours at a time. Compensation & Benefits This is a full-time, salaried/exempt position with a starting salary of $60,000 annually. Full-time employees qualify for partial paid Medical, Dental, Vision, and life for employee; family coverage is available at group rates.
