We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the orthodontist in various procedures. If you have a passion for dentistry and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and treatments
- Take and record vital signs of patients
- Perform patient assessments and document medical history
- Take dental x-rays as directed by the orthodontist
- Prepare treatment rooms for procedures and ensure all instruments are sterilized and ready for use
- Provide chairside assistance during orthodontic procedures
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate patient records using Eaglesoft or similar dental software
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- X-Ray certification
- Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant is preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
- Proficiency in using Eaglesoft or similar dental software systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
