Job Title:
Welder Job Description We are currently seeking highly motivated and talented individuals for welding positions in our Steel and Irrigation Operations division. You will be responsible for welding metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. Responsibilities Fuse or weld metal structural components together by means of arc welding in the fabrication of steel electrical poles, substations, and other structures Perform welding operations requiring a limited amount of planning of work from blueprints or other written specifications and determining operation sequence Utilize all safety devices and wear all mandatory personal protective safety equipment Adjust welding equipment to its prescribed settings Maintain and operate production tooling and fixtures as well as all welding equipment in a safe and secure manner Read and complete labor reporting system, standard shop forms, and blueprints Perform minor welding machine maintenance (i.e. tips, liners, gas cups) Use labor reporting system, routing shop forms, and fill out move tags Essential Skills One month of previous hands-on welding experience in a professional environment Ability to accurately read a measuring tape Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment Ability to pass an onsite welding assessment Ability to work over ten hours a week in overtime when required for business needs Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment American Welding Society (AWS) welding certification from a recognized school Six months of previous hands-on welding experience in a professional environment Ability to read and interpret blueprints correctly without assistance High awareness for safety at all times Ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision Passion and integrity and the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a heavy industrial environment requiring jeans, steel toes with metatarsal covers, and shirts. The campus is very large, requiring candidates to drive from building to building. The environment can be noisy and at times, dirty. The work hours for 2nd shift are Monday- Friday 3PM
- 11PM or Monday
- Thursday 3PM
- 1AM. The 3rd shift is Monday
- Friday 11PM
- 7AM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley, Nebraska. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00
