Job Description

Evergreen Natural Resources Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Trinidad ,
Colorado Summary:
As a heavy equipment mechanic, you will help maintain and repair our heavy machinery used in our construction, Frac, and Workover fleets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment such as motor graders, backhoes, excavators, and trucks, with added experience dealing with hydraulic systems, such as PTO driven pumps, motors, and accessories.
Minimum Qualification:
Five years of experience is preferred, and a minimum of one year.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy equipment, attachments, auxiliary equipment, emergency generators, and vehicles.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks on heavy equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
  • Disassemble, repair, reassemble engines, transmissions, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and other components of heavy machinery.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts and components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Test and adjust equipment settings and controls to ensure proper operation and adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory using computerized maintenance management systems or manual logs.
  • Conduct field service repairs and maintenance at job sites, or remote locations as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents form happening.
  • Perform annual Department of Transportation (DOT) required inspections on vehicles or required equipment and repair as needed per Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (FMSCR).
  • Provide assistance, guidance, and training to technicians and mechanics as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and other team members to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Stay current with advancements in heavy equipment technology, tools, and diagnostic techniques through training and professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned Requirements and skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; completion of a vocational training program in heavy equipment mechanics or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or similar role, with a strong understanding of heavy equipment systems and components.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical systems used in heavy equipment.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, computerized diagnostic software, hand tools, and power tools for trouble shooting and repairs.
  • Physical strength, stamina, and ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions and environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand or walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop or bend.   • Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime and weekends as needed to meet deadlines and respond to breakdowns on equipment.
  • Valid drivers license and the ability to obtain a (CDL) commercial drivers license may be required.
Wage:
$30
  • $40 per hour, depending on experience Position is non-exempt Position is Full Time, 40 hours a week with possible overtime.
