In this role, you will play a critical part in the redesign and qualification of the heatshield Avcoat blocks, a vital component ensuring the safe return of astronauts from lunar orbit. Your expertise will support the planning and execution of delta qualification programs, advancing the success of this monumental mission. About the Artemis III Mission Artemis III is NASA's flagship mission to return humans to the lunar surface, paving the way for a sustainable presence on the Moon and future exploration of Mars. This mission will land astronauts near the Moon's South Pole, focusing on groundbreaking scientific research and the utilization of lunar resources. As a member of the Artemis III team, you will contribute to humanity's next giant leap. Key Responsibilities Lead the redesign and qualification of heatshield Avcoat blocks for the Artemis III mission. Develop and execute material allowable test plans to ensure safety and reliability. Apply advanced Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) techniques for material assessments. Contribute to the planning and execution of delta qualification programs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate materials expertise into the overall mission design and execution. Required Skills Candidates must possess the following qualifications: Expertise with Avcoat or other ablative materials. Experience in Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) techniques and capabilities. Proven ability to develop and execute material allowable test plans. Desired Skills Preferred candidates will have: Experience in probability of detection test plan development and execution. Previous involvement in NASA programs or similar aerospace initiatives. Hands-on experience with bonding materials, processes, and techniques. Why Join Us?
