Pay DOE up to $45/hrJob Summary:
- The Inside Machinist is responsible for the precision machining of components for Navy submarines using both manual and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines. This role requires a high level of skill in operating various types of machinery, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring that all parts meet stringent quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manual and CNC machines to fabricate, modify, and repair submarine components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
- Set up and adjust machine tools and equipment for optimal performance.
- Perform precision measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of machining operations and part specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to resolve technical issues.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in machining preferred.
- Proven experience as a machinist, with expertise in both manual and CNC machining.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tools, and equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a machining environment.
Will be working with:
+ Power, signal (copper and fiber), and RF cabling + Cable tags, wire markers and label plates + Multi-pin, fiber optic, RF, Teleco and other types of connectors + Accomplishes routine clean-up of work site +Assembling cable kits + Pinning connectors + Terminating wiresBenefits:
