• Job Summary:

• The Inside Machinist is responsible for the precision machining of components for Navy submarines using both manual and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines. This role requires a high level of skill in operating various types of machinery, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring that all parts meet stringent quality standards.

• Key Responsibilities:

• Operate manual and CNC machines to fabricate, modify, and repair submarine components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
• Set up and adjust machine tools and equipment for optimal performance.
• Perform precision measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of machining operations and part specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to resolve technical issues.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

• Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in machining preferred.
• Proven experience as a machinist, with expertise in both manual and CNC machining.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tools, and equipment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a machining environment.

Will be working with:

+ Power, signal (copper and fiber), and RF cabling + Cable tags, wire markers and label plates + Multi-pin, fiber optic, RF, Teleco and other types of connectors + Accomplishes routine clean-up of work site +Assembling cable kits + Pinning connectors + Terminating wires
