Overhead Crane Service Technician- up to $90K+ and Growth Potential, Near Milwaukee, WI 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars Milwaukee, WI 53274 A full-service design, engineering and manufacturing firm specializing in overhead material handling equipment and machining is looking to add a motivated Crane Service Technician to their growing team of Professionals near Milwaukee, WI.
General Description:
Install, maintain, repair, and inspect mechanical equipment and including specialized overhead crane equipment in industrial facilities. Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Ensure that work in in accordance with relevant codes. Install service on overhead cranes or electrical control systems. Fabricates, assembles and tests parts as needed, and other mechanical system parts using metal fabricating tools, common hand tools, power tools, welders, torches. Moves and replaces machinery and auxiliary apparatus using hand and electric trucks, forklifts, dollies, overhead and truck cranes. Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Able to read blueprints and welding symbols and to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes. Able to weld in position, overhead and vertical ups using stick and wire (preferred) Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA safety rules and regulations. Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps. Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors. Repair or replace wiring, equipment and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Education and/or
Certifications Desired:
High school diploma or GED Experience maintaining and repairing overhead cranes Experience in industrial/customer service • Travel is required. Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Crane technicians will receive a company vehicle after shadowing a leader for a few months and are paid portal-to-portal.
