PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Chill Water Specialist is responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, inspections and repairs of all District's chill and water systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Five + years experience servicing both water and air cooled chillers; helical and centrifugal equipment preferred Five + years experience in commercial HVAC or heating boiler experience (preferred) Excellent troubleshooting skills Refrigerant Recovery Certification required High School Graduate or
GED HVAC
Associates preferred Able to read blueprints and schematics Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Chiller Tech Responsible for chiller PM and repairs Troubleshooting of system and provide/implement recommendations Proficient with system parameters to perform at maximum efficiency Maintenance of Electrical / Pneumatic / Variable Frequency Drive Diagnose, Service, Troubleshoot & Repair Assisting with a growing chiller service group Oversees chilled water chemical treatment Boiler Tech Responsible for boilers PM and repairs Troubleshooting of system and provide / implement recommendations Maintain and track on any Local/ State/ Federal regulatory requirements Knowledge of hot water loop chemical treatment Control Tech Direct Digital Control (DDC) experience as it interfaces with chiller plant systems Troubleshoot systems failures and recommend and / or carry out corrective measures Perform periodic maintenance and calibration on system components Others Responsible to successfully complete all work orders and to submit them to office staff Communicate with Engineer to ensure that all Energy Management Systems are operating properly Programming / scheduling request on HVAC systems during extracurricular activities Must be available for weekend / OT when required Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws. Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others. Perform other related duties as assigned.
EQUIPMENT USED
Power tools (drill, saw etc.), hand tools, pressure washer, district vehicle, high lifts two-way radio, refrigerant recovery units, soldering equipment, and computer.
