Citizenship:

Must be a U.S. Citizen or an alien admitted for permanent residence or lawfully admitted for temporary residence who produces evidence of intention to become a citizen of the

United States Driver's License:

Must have a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain an Illinois Driver's license upon hiring

Age Requirements:

Be twenty-one (21) years of age. An applicant may apply at age twenty (20), provided that no applicant shall be eligible for employment certification until their 21st birthday. There is no maximum age

Education:

Must have a High School Diploma or have a certification of equivalency

Character:

Must have no felony convictions, nor domestic violence criminal convictions, nor any misdemeanor conviction involving moral turpitude (50 ILCS 705/6), nor dishonorable discharge (U.S. Army RE-4 separation classification or equivalent) from the military

Eyesight:

Eyesight must be correctable to 20/20, free of color and night blindness

Testing:

Must be able to participate and successfully complete all phases of the testing which includes a physical agility test, written examination, oral interview, psychological evaluation, medical test, preemployment drug screening and background investigation which includes a polygraph Police Officer's Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) must possess a valid POWER card by the background phase.
