Job Description

Chairside Dental Assistant Mark S Roisman DMD 225 Main Street, Westport, CT 06880 We are looking for a clinical dental assistant to join our single dentist, high quality, high tech, esthetically oriented-practice. We are seeking someone who is experienced with patient interactions, friendly and clinically talented and experienced. Radiology certified and computer capable is a must. Attention to detail and an instinct for cleanliness, proper disinfection and sterilization, is required. Our regular hours are Monday (7am
  • 6pm), Tuesday (7am
  • 5pm), Wednesday (7am-3pm) and, Thursday (7am
  • 5pm).
(These hours may be extended if needed for emergency patients). Job includes chairside (4 handed) dental assisting, maintaining rooms, keeping the operatories stocked and tracking inventory, disinfection and sterilization. The ideal candidate should be personable and friendly and familiar with greeting, seating, dismissing and scheduling patients. Good telephone skills is an asset. Being comfortable with computers applications and new technology is important. Familiarity with digital impressions and in-office milling is an asset. If you are a quick learner and a people person, you will be an excellent candidate. Workdays are Monday through Thursday for a total of 37 work hours.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
  • Take and develop dental x-rays
  • Perform dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
  • Provide patients with instructions for oral care following dental procedures
  • Maintain and update patient charts and records
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment
Experience:
  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant necessary
  • Familiarity with dental management programs
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques
  • Proficiency in taking digital dental x-rays (certification a must)
Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer proficiency in an all digital office
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients
