Maintenance Supervisor (Streets/Sewers/Storm Water) City of Cypress, CA - 3.5 Cypress, CA Job Details Full-time $81,036 - $105,372 a year 5 hours ago Qualifications Paving Contract management Mid-level High school diploma or GED Supervising experience Associate's degree Full Job Description Description The City of Cypress is seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Maintenance Supervisor to plan, assign, coordinate and supervise the work of City and contract personnel engaged in the maintenance of sidewalks, streets, sanitary sewers and storm water drainage systems. The position reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent. The Maintenance Supervisor classification is exempt and is a member of the Mid-Management group. Typical Qualifications Knowledge of:
Asphalt paving; techniques and skills involved in pouring and finishing concrete; cutting and preparing streets for patching; spreading premix and oil; raking asphalt; grading; operation and maintenance of graders, motor sweepers, rollers, tractors, backhoes, skiploaders and similar equipment; sign maintenance and street painting methods. Repair and maintenance of City open culverts and channels; operation of sanitary sewer and storm water pump station computer controls and all related sewer cleaning equipment; related emergency procedures.Ability to:
Calculate basic estimates of materials and labor requirements for a job or project. Maintain accurate records. Train and counsel maintenance personnel on safety rules, regulations and productivity standards. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and sound judgment in dealing with employees and the public. Experience and Education Four years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal public works maintenance, preferably in the area of streets, sanitary sewers and/or storm water drainage systems, including two years of lead or supervisory experience; and A high school diploma or G.E.D. An Associate's degree, contract management experience and training in supervision are highly desirable.Other Job Posting Details
