Operations Scheduler 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Lansing, IL 60438 Quality Carriers, Inc. (QC), headquartered in Tampa, FL, is North America's largest bulk chemical carrier. Through a network of more than 100 terminals and facilities, we transport a broad range of chemical products and provide our customers with value-added transportation services. We are currently hiring an Operations Scheduler reporting to our corporate office but working from a terminal either in Illinois - Lansing or Bedford Park areas. This position coordinates all functions of load planning and freight movement while optimizing the reloadable bulk transportation assets in assigned region by communication with terminals, local dispatchers, drivers and third party logistics providers. This position requires a self-motivated and detail oriented individual. They will also provide visibility to management and the customer in regards to tracking, process oversight issues, successes and data. Annual pay range of $70k-78k
Required Skills and Abilities:
Current transportation market knowledge (understanding operating practices, structure, and management organization, including knowledge of lanes and rates) - Willing to train Central Dispatch Experience System Planning and Operations Manager experience a plus Knowledge of customer's business, products Knowledge of Quality Carrier's and Customer's equipment Geographical Expertise, understanding of mileage as it relates to the passage of time, including DOT and speed governance Good communication skills and ability to deal with people Knowledge of DOT requirements Experience with safety procedures Working knowledge of computer and software such as Word & Excel; TMW experience strongly preferred Strong analytical skills
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; 2-year business degree preferred; 2-3 years chemical bulk transportation industry experience; in a dispatcher or transportation operations position.
