Full Job Description Company & Position Summary:
Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Associates is a multispecialty private physician practice, providing Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep medical services to the Denver metro area for over 40 years. Our dedicated team of over 40 Board Certified Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Physicians along with our skilled clinical and administrative staff exclusively serve nine Common Spirit and AdventHealth Hospital ICU's and multiple outpatient clinic locations spanning Colorado's front range. CCPSA's organizational culture exemplifies excellence in patient centered care, unified teamwork, and a highly collaborative approach in all business and clinical operations. We are currently seeking a Medical Records - Health Information Specialist to join our committed team of professionals. The Medical Records - Health Information Specialist is an essential administrative support role within CCPSA's Clinic Staff Team. The primary function of this position is to manage outgoing orders, incoming results, and assisting with the collection and importing of medical records into our electronic health record system as well as contribute to CCPSA's high standard of quality patient care.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks Receptionist:
Support a multidisciplinary team of Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Clinic Staff, and Management with all clinical documentation and medical record management needs. Handle the full cycle of order processing, including sending orders as prescribed by healthcare providers, following up with patients to ensure completion of tests, and coordinating with external medical practices to retrieve test results before the patient's next visit. Maintain and organize medical records using digital systems, including a computerized chart location system, ensuring efficient access and retrieval. Input and update documentation and reports in a timely manner for physician analysis and signature. Request and obtain new patient medical records from various electronic health record platforms and imaging sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Prepare new patient charts utilizing intake questionnaires. Upload, import, and sort medical records, including office visit notes, imaging reports, lab results, and other relevant documentation, using multiple digital systems. Ensure strict adherence to patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform additional administrative and clinical support duties as assigned by Clinic Leadership. Work Experience Requirements:
Minimum of two-year prior experience in a Health Information Department, Medical Records or Healthcare related field. High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree in Health Information Technology or a related field preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, of electronic medical information systems, and Office 365 software. Experience with handling sensitive and confidential patient health information. Knowledge of EMR systems, with EPIC knowledge preferred but not required Ability to display a high level of professionalism and confidentially at all times. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask is a must.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to sit for extended time periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly compensation. Benefits effective date-of-hire (no waiting period). Comprehensive medical benefits. Company covers 80-85% percent of individual or family premium.
