Key Responsibilities:
Specialize in a specific area of vehicle repair, including transmissions, brakes, air conditioning, radiators, or other components. Diagnose mechanical problems through visual inspections and computer diagnostic tools. Perform tests on vehicle components and systems to ensure proper mechanical function. Execute necessary repairs, replacements, or maintenance services. Repair or replace malfunctioning parts such as brake pads, rotors, transmissions, and radiators. Conduct test drives and additional evaluations to confirm repairs. Handle other related duties as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of vehicle repair and specialized areas of automotive technology. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues accurately. Proficiency with automotive diagnostic equipment and repair software. Ability to interpret service manuals and work orders. Efficiency in completing repairs promptly.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. ASE or brand-specific certification is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate. Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work safely in a busy environment with exposure to various odors. Capability to lift 50 lbs. regularly. Good vision to inspect vehicle components accurately. Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat as required for vehicle repairs. Competency in safely operating motor vehicles.
