Application and Platform Specialist -- Gies College of Business Urbana, IL, United States | 1030163 Posted on: 4/15/2025 Application and Platform Specialist -- Gies College of Business Information Technology Partners Job Summary Work within the IT Partners Client Success and Operations team to provide front-end web support and vended platform support, and workflow support for the Gies College of Business. Duties & Responsibilities Applications support
  • Provide expert and responsive support for vended and custom technology platforms in the college
  • Assist in evaluating capabilities of vended and campus communication platforms and make recommendations to IT Partners on best use and practices.
  • Assist with documenting and testing applications and vended services supported by IT Partners.
  • Build a deep understanding of client needs and help advise on appropriate supported solutions.
  • Collaborate with user groups, committees, and advisory groups of shared supported systems. Front-end web support
  • Collaborate with Gies stakeholders and ITP's developers in the successful creation, configuration, and maintenance of websites.
  • Collaborate with Gies stakeholders in the successful creation, configuration, branding, and maintenance of vended web communication platforms.
  • Provide expert user support and training for Gies web platforms. Workflow support
  • Develop low- and no-code workflows in collaboration with developers.
  • Provide expert user support for IT Partners developed workflows. Project management and administration
  • Create and manage documentation for applications and platforms.
  • Document project progress and report/present results. Leadership and collaboration
  • Collaborate with other IT units and college departments to align application and platforms support initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Represent IT Partners in campus-wide working groups and committees. Minimum Qualifications Specialty Factors
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of work experience in IT‐related functions such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.
College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline may be substituted as follows: 30 semester hours equals one (1) year, Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen (18) months, 90 semester hours equals two (2) years, Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years).
  • Demonstrated experience in application development and/or support.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's in computer science or technology-related degrees Experience in documentation Experience in customer support Experience in supporting/integrating third-party software solutions Experience with HTML and CSS Experience with content management systems Experience within the University of Illinois and understanding internal processes. Appointment Information This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5031 - Information Technology Technical Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the search close date. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
