Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Boiler Pipe Fitter to install, maintain, and repair piping systems associated with boilers and high-pressure steam equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of boiler systems, safety procedures, and piping codes, and will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of heating systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and assemble piping systems for boilers and associated equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, heat exchangers). Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand and power tools. Perform welding, brazing, and soldering as required for pipe connections. Conduct pressure tests and inspections to detect leaks or defects. Troubleshoot and repair existing boiler piping systems. Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and safety regulations. Work collaboratively with engineers, other tradespeople, and site managers. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Follow company and site-specific safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in pipe fitting, preferably in boiler or steam systems. Proficient in using tools such as pipe threaders, cutters, welding equipment, etc. Strong understanding of boiler operations, steam systems, and pipefitting techniques. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications. Certification in pipe welding (e.g., ASME, AWS) is a plus. Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and perform manual labor.
Working Conditions:
Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. May require standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
