We are seeking a Senior Mainframe COBOL Developer to join a high-impact Client Data Modernization (CDM) initiative. This role will focus on decoupling, re-architecting, and re-platforming legacy systems while integrating client information data into new platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and VSAM, along with experience in batch and online processing.Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and optimize mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. Migrate client data from legacy mainframe Client Information Files to modernized platforms. Work on batch processing and CICS online transaction components to ensure seamless data flow. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mainframe and Java-based systems for data transfer and reformatting. Support data integration efforts, moving data from mid-tier environments to mainframe VSAM files and databases. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues to maintain optimal system performance. Perform code reviews, ensure compliance with best practices, and develop technical documentation. Participate in production support, handling system troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning. Stay updated with emerging mainframe technologies and best practices.
