  • Hiring (1) Wastewater Operator Position Purpose The Central Valley Water Reclamation Facility (CVWRF) is searching for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
Under the direction of Operations Supervisors and/or Direct Responsible Charge (DRC) Operator, assists in monitoring, maintaining, and operating facility processes and equipment through sampling, observation, and instrumentation.   • 37.56 Operator Trainee Operator I Operator II Operator III Operator IV Shift Info CVWRF offers a four-day work week at ten hours a day (4-10's). This position will remain on a day shift for the first six months of employment until training is complete. Day shifts begin at 5:15 AM and end at 3:45 PM. After, this position may end up any of the following shifts: Monday to Thursday
  • Day (Covers other shifts) Tuesday to Friday
  • Day (Covers other shifts) Wednesday to Saturday
  • Day, Swings, and Graves (Swings 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM) and (Graves 9:30 PM to 7:30 AM) Sunday to Wednesday
  • Day, Swings and Graves (Swings 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM) and (Graves 9:30 PM to 7:30 AM) Swings and graves receive a $2 or $3 shift differential, depending on the shift.

Position:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) Must pass the Operator I certification test within two years of the start date. Must pass the Operator II certification test within four years of the start date. State certification requirements must be met to continue employment with CVWRF. Preference may be given to candidates with previous experience in mechanics and troubleshooting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
Takes readings and records all gauges, meters, and indicators of the treatment process. Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, listening for unusual or variations in sounds during operation. Records and reports any changes and make required adjustments under supervision. Keeps plant environment clean and in top operating condition. Uses custodial equipment to maintain plant appearance and control odors. Assist with monitoring elements by following proper sampling and reporting procedures that meet EPA and Utah Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (UPDES) Permit requirements. Gather, analyze and record results related to sampling. Monitors HVAC, supervisory control, and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and instrumentation programs; records and reports result as required for control room operations. Uses work orders to report problems related to operational equipment. Performs scheduled and unscheduled work orders as assigned. Maintain plant security to ensure the safety of plant personnel and visitors. Maintain plant appearance by cleaning and providing maintenance assistance; performs assigned duties for odor control, hygienic, and safety purposes. Keeps operations records and files current, complete and accurate. Attends meetings as assigned. Attends training sessions to update skills as needed. May be required to serve on an emergency response team. Promote and implement Arbinger principles. Other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor and/or DRC.
