PAY AND SCHEDULE

Competitive wages starting at $35.00 - $35.50 per hour. The typical schedule is a 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime and Saturdays as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operate a garbage truck on assigned routes to collect solid waste. Waste experience is preferred but not required. Read and follow route sheets to service each customer identified or assigned by the dispatcher. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires. Physically demanding work, including loading and unloading waste, sometimes without assistance. Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose trash at designated facilities. Interact courteously with customers and perform other related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

Extensive physical activity - requires lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts, requiring adherence to basic safety precautions. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including frequent wet/humid conditions, fumes, and vibration. Noise levels are generally moderate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Valid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement is required. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. At least 2 years of relevant experience directly related to the duties listed. Basic knowledge of truck components to conduct pre-and post-trip inspections.
