Kutak Rock LLP seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our national Finance and Accounting Department in Omaha, NE. This position supports the accurate and timely processing of invoices, ensuring compliance with payment terms and firm policy. This role is ideal for a detail oriented mathematically inclined individual who enjoys working in a collegial and collaborative environment.RESPONSIBILITIES
Review vendor invoices, statements, client costs and other documents for accuracy and compliance with firm policies and procedures Enter invoices and client costs into the accounting system Ensure invoices have required approval, payment limits and backup prior to payment Sort incoming mail, print, copy, mail, and file invoices, checks, and supporting documents Utilize imaging system to store vendor invoices and other supporting documents Record expense and client cost transactions to general ledger Reconcile vendor statements and previous unpaid balances on vendor invoices Review and process expense reports to ensure proper documentation and compliance with firm reimbursement policies and procedures Assist with state use tax compliance and filings Assist with 1099 compliance and reporting Assist with analysis of various client cost recovery items Assist with firm credit card and calling card administration as needed Flexibility to work overtime as needed Assist with other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS
Skills and Abilities Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion General understanding of accounting practices and principles which includes accounts payable processes and procedures Attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Problem-solving skills and the ability to address payment discrepancies Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills while working collegially with clients, attorneys, and staff Excellent computer skills with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel, experience with accounting software a plus (Aderant)QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required, associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred 1+ years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or cash management in a professional services organization preferredPosition Information Status:
Non-Exempt Salary Range:
$48,500-$58,250 per year, commensurate with education and experienceWork Arrangement:
