Hourly rate pay is $29.03 plus overtime available . Doumak, Inc. is The Marshmallow Company. Founded in 1921, it is a leading producer of marshmallows sold under the Campfire® and Fireside® brands, and for private label. Our two Chicago-area facilities provide bagged regular and miniature marshmallows for distribution world wide through wholesale, retail grocery, and food service channels. Primary Duties:
Support the Production Department in order to manufacture safe, quality products. Respond to repair requests of production machinery and building equipment in all facility areas. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems and make appropriate repairs to return machinery to a satisfactory running condition. Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts and written or verbal instructions to perform assigned tasks. Perform moderate to complex adjustments, maintenance and repairs to plant equipment such as bagging machines, conveyors, case erectors, kitchen equipment, and utility equipment. Perform basic rebuilding of gearboxes, motors, and small pneumatic equipment. Analyze existing problems and help provide innovative solutions. Unload powdered and liquid raw materials from rail cars as needed. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on plant process and utility equipment, including lubrication, filter replacement and equipment inspection. Assist as needed on equipment installations and upgrades within the facility. Follow all OSHA regulations, GMPs, and all food safety laws and regulations. Be available for weekend work, overtime, and some flexible shifts.Skill Requirements and Qualifications:
Strong ability in all areas of electrical maintenance, including 3-phase motors, variable frequency drives, controls, and troubleshooting is required. Familiarity with the A-B ControlLogix control platform is a plus. Programming is NOT required. Industrial maintenance experience is preferred; food industry experience or confections experience is a plus. Familiarity with vertical bagging and scale equipment is preferred. Must supply own hand tools, and be able to use power tools safely. Forklift operation ability preferred. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights including rooftops and silos, and lift 70 pounds safely. Must be able to stand or walk frequently; work in congested areas and tight spaces. Must be able to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics and equipment manuals. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write, and speak the English language. Must have strong team, leadership, verbal and written skills, and able to complete work documentation accurately. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with little direct supervision. Some knowledge of mechanical and pneumatics operations expected. Welding, piping, HVAC, Freon chillers, metal fabrication, and machining is a plus but not required. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Vocational training or AA/AS degree is a plus.
