Job Description

Evaluator Safety Evaluation & Audit Prog 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Long Island City, NY 11101 Position Summary The Evaluator, Safety Evaluation and Audit Program (SEAP) plans and performs (internal & external) evaluations to assess the management and control systems within JetBlue Airways to ensure they are in conformance with international/domestic standards and regulations. Evaluators utilize various analysis methodologies to find systemic faults or gaps and determine if safety-critical programs are functioning effectively. Essential Responsibilities Planning and implementation of evaluation/audit schedules Identifies, tracks, and solves quality and safety concerns, issues or hazards (this includes, but not limited to, research, interviews, reviews of past evaluation/audit records and compliance data for trends) Assists and follows up with operational departments in the development of corrective action plans Performs and facilitates risk assessment on evaluation findings and observations Coordinates Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) - Safety Assurance System (SAS) inspections conducted by the FAA Coordinates International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) conducted by appointed Audit Organization Coordinates Department of Defense (DOD) inspections conducted by the DOD Assists operating areas with continuous improvement through the application of quality and safety management principles (auditing process and safety attributes, etc.). Interfaces with all levels of internal and external customers, including executive/senior management Communicates company policies/procedures, Federal Aviation Regulations and other standards including but not limited to IOSA standards, DOD standards etc., facilitating fair resolutions and imparting quality expertise to all crewmembers Prepares presentations, assists the Safety department with investigations and solutions on issues as needed Positively participate in team meetings and other events Effectively, efficiently and proactively communicate challenges of audit/project deadlines, recommend possible solutions to evaluation/audit Ensure adherence to all Safety and Security regulations Other duties as assigned Minimum Experience and Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma Three (3) years of Aviation or Aviation Safety, Evaluation, Audit experience No record of safety or compliance violations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Be able to pass continuous education as required by regulations, standards or company requirements (initial and recurrent training) Must read and understand regulations, company policies and procedures to perform audits Must produce articulate and concise written reports which will be communicated to JetBlue leadership and external audit organizations Available for occasional overnight travel (approximately 30%) Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Power Point Must pass a pre-employment drug test Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship Preferred Experience and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, or a Safety related field Two (2) years of experience in operational workgroup (area of expertise) Training or aviation experience in quality assurance, accident investigation, aviation safety, or FAA SAS Approved industry recognized audit qualification Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Six Sigma green belt or higher

Regular attendance and punctuality Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice Able to maintain a professional appearance When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue's Safety Management System Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR)) Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls Uphold JetBlue's safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is between $56,500.00 and $103,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue's total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
