Human Resources Generalist 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars 8120 Kinsman Rd, Cleveland, OH 44104 Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources and/or designee, the Human Resources Generalist role will encompass a variety of functions, including talent acquisition, training and development, employee relations, HRIS management, wellness initiatives, and benefits and compensation administration. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and passionate about enhancing our workplace culture, while actively supporting the Authority's mission, vision, and values to both internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition:
Manage the full recruitment cycle, from job postings to interviewing and onboarding new hires. Collaborate with hiring managers to define role requirements and candidate profiles. Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates.
Benefits and Compensation:
Administer employee benefits programs and address employee questions related to benefits enrollment and changes.
Training and Development:
Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and career development. Assist with orientation sessions for new employees and ongoing training opportunities.
Employee Relations:
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns regarding policies, procedures, and workplace issues. Facilitate conflict resolution and promote a positive work environment.
HRIS Management:
Maintain and update the HR information system (HRIS) to ensure accurate employee records and reporting. Generate and analyze HR metrics to support decision-making.
Additional Functions:
Assist with various administrative HR tasks, including file management, record keeping, and documentation. Handle and process personnel changes for both union and non-union employees, ensuring compliance with relevant agreements and policies. Support the HR team in daily operations and special projects as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labor/Employee Relations, or a related field is required. However, candidates may substitute an additional four years of relevant work experience for the degree. A Master's Degree is strongly preferred. Three to five years of generalist experience with a broad knowledge of talent acquisition, employee/labor relations, performance management, training and development, benefits administration, and compliance is required. Experience in a unionized environment is preferred. Proven experience in handling sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism. Skills Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing fair employment practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with diverse populations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Solid computer literacy skills in Human Resources Information Systems. Ability to convey urgency in achieving outcomes and persisting despite obstacles. Strong research skills to derive valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action. Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. General working knowledge of HR contractual agreements, employment laws, and practices. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with employees and residents. Results-oriented with a strong focus on people. A valid Ohio driver's license with fully insurable driving record.
