• Job Description
• As a Generator Mechanic, you will be tasked with troubleshooting and repairing generator problems, electrical control panels, and working with three-phase electrical voltage and circuit breakers. You will travel from job site to job site, performing preventative maintenance on all generators while ensuring a thorough understanding of power generation.
• Responsibilities
• + Troubleshoot and repair generator problems and electrical control panels. + Work with three-phase electrical voltage and circuit breakers. + Travel to various job sites to repair generators. + Perform preventative maintenance on generators.
• Essential Skills
• + Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, HVAC, and generator maintenance. + Experience with installation, diagnostics, repair, and service of diesel-powered standby electrical generation equipment. + Mechanical skills and facilities maintenance knowledge. + Ability to perform inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + High school diploma required.

+ Clean driving record. + Generation Technology training or Power Production and Maintenance training preferred. + Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and on-call hours. + Professionalism, integrity, adaptability, and strong customer service focus. + Excellent communication skills. + Valid state driver's license with a DOT medical card for towing. + Basic set of industrial tools, including hand tools, air tools, torque wrenches, and multimeters. + Ability to travel within territory, averaging up to 20%. + Safe operation of megohmmeter and micro-ohmmeter. + Understanding of isochronous governing and basic voltage regulation. + Ability to calculate KW and amperage for load banking. + Experience in cable layout for load banking. + Advanced knowledge in switchgear, voltage regulation, and protective relay operation.
