Job Summary:
The test driver trainer will operate pre-production vehicles as part of a team on predominantly public roads while performing a full vehicle evaluation for each drive cycle. The test driver will be responsible for identifying any issues in relation to the powertrain, quality of build, functionality and design of vehicle systems, and any other vehicle related items. The test driver will also be responsible for training both day and night shift team members in station operation procedures, complaint writing and reporting, safety operation of the vehicle, and confidential vehicle process procedures. This test driver role will support during local and offsite test drives. This position will also support in ad hoc transport and delivery of vehicles between testing locations.Job Responsibilities:
Complete a full vehicle evaluation and complete a clear and concise report and any other records for each vehicle during assigned shift. Electronically, also written. Upload of logger data from the vehicle after shift completion. Use of vehicle lift for underbody and chassis inspections. Ability to change a tire on a vehicle if needed. Drive in small groups on designated routes for 8 - 10 hour shifts while performing test procedures. Participate in all vehicle testing including but not limited to driving of foreign specification vehicles and designated special tests. Accurately communicate detailed findings verbally and legibly write detailed findings on reporting forms. (in English) to Engineers/Technicians and Supervisor. Operate vehicles in an extremely safe manner, obeying all laws of the road. Maintain safety and security procedures. Must be comfortable driving in remote locations and in inclement weather. Attend driver shift for training on evening shift two times a week Organize driver training tracking system, plan training activities per individual driver needsQualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Possess a valid USA driver's license for a minimum of 9 years. Have no points, no major traffic citations, and/or accidents for the past five years. No DUI or DWAI convictions. Availability to travel into Canada for vehicle testing. Able to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screening, written driving test, a road driving test, read maps, lift at least 25 pounds, and be able to travel outside of state limits. High school graduate or equivalent required. Availability of 6 days per week Monday - Saturday. Ability to drive for prolonged periods of time, from 8 miles to 600 miles per shift. Follow directions and execute tasks. Be reliable and maintain good attendance.Complete / Pass
