JOB SUMMARY

Under supervision, perform daily operation and routine preventative maintenance functions of all wastewater treatment and pumping facilities as assigned.

JOB DUTIES

1. Operate all wastewater treatment and pumping facilities as directed and scheduled. 2. Complete daily logbooks and reports as necessary. 3. Perform testing procedures necessary to monitor wastewater treatment plant operations. 4.Perform routine preventative maintenance activities on equipment and facilities as directed or scheduled. 5. Perform such other duties as assigned or necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. High school diploma/GED or equivalence and ability to understand and apply the principles of wastewater treatment systems and operations. 2. Must have successfully completed the Borough's Apprentice Plant Operator's training or demonstrate equivalent skills, knowledge and abilities. 3. Possess and maintain a PA Operator's Certificate of the Borough's class and subclass plants. 4. Must possess personal initiative, judgment, dependability and cooperation in performing work assignments and alertness in the observation of hazards and prevention of accidents. 5. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and up to 100 lbs. occasionally with assistance 6. Hold a valid Class B Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operators License or are able to get one within 10 months of being hired.
