Driver Recruitment and Retention Specialist 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars 6949 N 3000E Rd, Manteno, IL 60950 Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Recruiter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, sourcing and recruiting qualified Class A company drivers, IOO's and LMC's.
Description of Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
  • Recruiting Class A company drivers, Owner Operations, and Licensed Motor Carriers
  • Locate potential employees who meet DOT and company standards
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job boards/newspapers/colleges etc.
  • Pre-screen potential applicants to ensure they meet DOT and Company standards
  • Inform applicants about our operations and the benefits we offer
  • Utilize social media platforms and other search engines to generate leads
  • Develop and oversee recruiting or referral programs
  • Onboard new employees to become fully integrated
  • Schedule driver orientations and road tests
  • Provide analytical and well-documented recruiting reports to leadership.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee retention and engagement, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Build strong relationships with candidates throughout the recruitment process to create a positive onboarding experience and long-term commitment.
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership teams to identify factors contributing to employee turnover and develop targeted retention initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze retention metrics, providing actionable insights to improve workforce stability.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and management, addressing concerns and fostering a supportive work environment.
  • Support career development initiatives, including internal mobility opportunities, to retain top talent.

Qualifications :
Education / Training
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Bachelor's degree is a plus Experience 3+ years min experience in recruiting Class A Drivers Trucking, Sales or Transportation experience and or background a Plus Proven experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems e.g (Tenstreet, Driver Reach, Zip Recruiter, etc.) and various ATS platforms for tracking applicants and managing recruitment processes. Proven work experience as a Recruiter (either an in-house recruiter or a staffing agency recruiter) Strong understanding of employment labor laws and compliance requirements related to hiring practices. Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage effectively with candidates and stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated ability in lead generation and cold calling techniques to attract top talent. Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes for both candidates and the organization.
