Peer Support Specialist Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services Wasilla, AK 99623 Overview Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services is a trusted provider of inpatient treatment services, dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery. The Peer Support Specialist will work closely with clients to foster a supportive environment that encourages personal growth and recovery. We are seeking a compassionate Peer Support Specialist to provide guidance and encouragement to clients through shared lived experience. Duties Provide one-on-one support to clients dealing with mental health and addiction issues. Promote self-advocacy by assisting recovering persons to have their voices fully heard; their needs, goals and objectives established as the focal point of rehabilitation and clinical services. Assist in the creation and implementation of social activities and help create a positive environment for everyone. Mentor individuals by offering guidance and support in their personal development. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress within established systems. Participate in team meetings to discuss client needs, progress, and strategies for improvement. Qualifications High school diploma or GED certificate. Peer Support Specialist certification. Ability to mentor individuals effectively while fostering a supportive environment. Knowledge of behavioral health systems and resources available for clients. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
