Park Safety Officer 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Columbia, MO The purpose of this job is to be a visible presence in City parks and trails with a goal of providing safety and security to all visitors. Performs law enforcement work involving prevention, detection, and investigation of criminal acts, apprehension and arrest of law violators, and safeguarding of lives and property. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of:
Relevant federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. Departmental policies and procedures. Law enforcement vehicles, equipment, tools, and technology.Skill in:
Operating police vehicles and specialized equipment. Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience. Applying active listening and asking questions for understanding. Collecting, organizing, and analyzing complex and/or technical data. Managing time effectively. Preparing and maintaining detailed and accurate reports.Ability to:
Exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions. Provide high levels of effective customer service. Handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure and maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Process and handle confidential information with discretion.
