This position performs routine radiologic duties including use of x-ray equipment and other specialized diagnostic equipment such as Dexascan. This position performs the duties of a scheduler and Medical Assistant when needed in the medical department.Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Independently operates fixed/portable radiography machine to meet the needs of the department. 2. Arrange devices which lessen discomfort and prevent the patient from moving;3. Position the patient for x-ray of the desired area and shield other areas from radiation;4. Adjust equipment to give a clear view of the patient's body;5. Provides in-service for other technologists and medical staff such as changes in a. equipment, techniques and procedures as needed;6. Prepare and clean examination room after each use; observe Infection Control Procedures.7. Maintains records of all functions of the department (preventive maintenance of equipment, any repairs of equipment, radiation surveys, etc.) keeps documentation on file as required by the AAAHC; 8. Requisitions supplies to meet the needs of the department; Maintains and updates the departmental Procedures Manual to meet allM/M & AAAHC
requirements;9. Maintain accurate patient electronic health records.10. Patient care to be carried out in a responsible, respectful and caring manner.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D. at time of hire. CPR certified, or willing to become certified within 3 months of employment. One year of Medical office experience and /or Certified Medical Assistant required, and at least six (6) months of prior work experience, under the direction of radiologists or other medical officers to produce radiographic studies used in medical diagnosis and treatment by a medical provider. Must be able to take blood pressure, body temperatures, weight and height, and be able to document readings accurately in the Electronic Health Record. (EHR) Experience in the operation of basic x-ray equipment. Ability to schedule patients, and record in the electronic database. Successful completion of a full-time training course of at least 12 months' duration in a post-high school radiography program. Must maintain patient confidentiality and understand HIPPA rules. Must be able to work in a diverse minority environment. Ability to successfully communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Must pass a recent TB test. Knowledgeable of Electronic Health Records, Next Gen - Strongly PreferredPLEASE NOTE
