Position Summary This position is responsible for performing skilled manual work in the maintenance and operation of bulldozers, excavators, line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment in connection with the construction and repair of transmission and distribution systems. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain familiarity with the operation and maintenance of the bulldozer, excavator, boom truck, digger and bucket truck and various pulling units
  • Assist in digging holes and setting poles
  • Assist experienced Linemen as needed
  • Drive and operate line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicles
  • Operate equipment and hydraulic tamp
  • Prepare materials for each project including cutouts, arrestors and transformers
  • Load and unload vehicles
  • Prepare vehicles for daily projects
  • Clean cover up materials, repair, clean and inspect tools on the vehicles
  • Assist with material stocking, pulling of stock for projects
  • Load, unload, move and handle materials, supplies and equipment, open boxes, barrels, bags and other materials.
  • Operate material handling equipment including hoists, fork-lift trucks, skid steer loaders, small tractors and automotive equipment and their associated equipment and perform duties incidental to the operation of such equipment.
  • Ability to maintain the security of confidential information
  • Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
  • Knowledge of voltage testing equipment
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of bulldozer and excavator, boom truck, digger, bucket truck, skid steer, small tractors, etc.
  • Skilled in time management
  • Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to listen and understand information verbally and in writing Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class A CDL
