Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Overhead Crane Technician to join our growing service team. This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing overhead cranes, hoists, and related lifting equipment at customer facilities. This is a hands-on field role that requires mechanical and electrical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment (electrical and mechanical). Conduct routine service checks and preventative maintenance in accordance with
OSHA/ANSI
standards. Troubleshoot electrical systems including motor controls, wiring, contactors, and VFDs. Install and retrofit crane systems and components. Accurately document service work, inspections, and findings. Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding service results and recommendations. Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and industry regulations. Participate in on-call rotation and emergency service calls as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred. 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or crane/hoist repair (or related field). Strong understanding of mechanical systems and electrical troubleshooting (AC/DC motors, controls, relays, etc.). Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams. Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, and CMAA standards. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Must be able to pass background check and drug screening. Comfortable working at heights and in industrial environments. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with brands like Gorbel, Harrington, Demag, Stahl, or Magnetek. Certification in crane inspection or maintenance (e.g., CMAA, CICB). Basic welding or fabrication skills. What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience. Company vehicle during work hours.
