Responsibilities:
  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures
  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
  • Take and develop dental x-rays
  • Prepare and maintain dental materials, such as cements and impression materials
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as billing and insurance claims processing
Experience:
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and dental procedures
  • Familiarity with medical records systems and dental office software
  • Proficient in assisting with various dental procedures, including fillings, extractions, and cleanings
  • Skilled in maintaining aseptic technique to prevent infection
  • Ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care
  • Experience with medical documentation and coding for insurance purposes
  • Strong understanding of infection control protocols
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a dental assistant training program or relevant experience
  • Dental assistant certification preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
