Under the general supervision of Field Services management, provides technical and administrative support to project and operations staff in order to plan, schedule and coordinate routine, emergency, assessment, maintenance, repair and/or replacement projects. Summary of Job Duties Plans, schedules and coordinates work activities involved in maintaining the county water and sewer systems to accurately forecast resources and requirements for planned work activities and projects; maintains timelines of needed resources and projects; coordinates work, training and safety needs with team members and external agencies; produces prioritized schedules and coordinates resources and activities; maintains effective communication with stakeholders (e.g., work teams, municipalities and townships, contractors, vendors, project personnel, department leadership); tracks projects to ensure acceptance and completion of project requirements; visits construction sites to verify project schedules and requirements are being met; coordinates availability of required equipment and materials including safety requirements; schedules deliveries based on forecasts, material substitutions, storage and handling facilities and maintenance requirements; researches and verifies data (e.g., CMMS, contractors) for building projects; prepares purchase requisitions, scope of work estimates and orders needed for supplies; coordinates repair and maintenance of equipment with vendors, identifies and prepares budget recommendations for equipment and services. Organizes meetings for various states of construction before, during and after completion of projects. Ensures that maintenance program work practices, maintenance resurfacing agreements, schedules and related contracts and procedures are current in the department's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), collaborates with system administrators and other technical personnel to ensure that technology and databases support the department's work and infrastructure management needs, analyzes and evaluates long range strategic planning, maintains effective communication and coordination of resources, confers with internal departments (e.g., finance, purchasing, engineering, and other personnel)to exchange information regarding inventories, schedules, and related issues. Plans, presents, and assigns work activities of assigned department employees. Assists with developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for work processes. May take part in supervisory standby hours as needed. (Perform Related Duties as Required) Minimum Qualifications and Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Five (5) years of experience in core business processes of water, wastewater, or other utility work (e.g., installation, repair, maintenance, operation, planning-scheduling, construction, consulting); OR alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Requirements.
Supplemental Information Driving Requirement :
Must maintain a current, valid United States driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Training and Development:
Successful completion of an approved course or workshop in project management within one (1) year of appointment.
