Full-Time Position Summary:
RDL Energy Services is seeking a Pipeline Pigging Technician to join our pipeline integrity team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient passage of pipeline inspection tools ("pigs") through natural gas and liquid pipelines. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in the field under varying conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and track the movement of pipeline pigs using geophones, transmitters, and receivers Accurately document pig passage times and locations Communicate with pipeline operators and control rooms to coordinate pig runs Deploy tracking equipment at key intervals along pipeline routes Perform maintenance and calibration of tracking tools and equipment Ensure all activities comply with safety and regulatory standards Travel frequently to various job sites, sometimes on short notice
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or pipeline experience preferred Familiarity with pipeline systems and pigging procedures is a plus Ability to read pipeline maps and follow GPS coordinates Strong written and verbal communication skills Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments Valid driver's license with clean driving record Willingness to travel extensively and work irregular hours
Skills & Experience:
Launching and Receiving Pigs Hydro Test Rig up/Rig Down Running Compressors/Boosters Hoses (1502,602,206,) Air Pressure/Head Pressure Setting & Running Dryers Filling & Dewatering Lines Terms are subject to upcoming contract approval. This includes scope of work, benefits, and travel details.
