JOB DESCRIPTION
To generate mortgage production loans through external business development & internal partners. Will qualify borrowers; maintain compliance and quality control standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build and maintain referral networks and relationships for bringing in new mortgage business.
  • Advise customers in the process of completing mortgage loan applications (1003)
  • Determine appropriate loan type for customers' needs and educate customers on details of all loan types
  • Determine loan requirements and advise customers regarding documentation required for transactions
  • Prepare and send initial disclosures to customers, complying with
RESPA/TILA
requirements
  • Correctly calculate income and identify assets for borrowers per appropriate lender's guidelines
  • Run loan file information through Loan Prospector or Desktop Underwriting system to determine eligibility for agency loan
  • Manage customers and related service providers, including real estate agents, regarding appropriate expectations for documentation, process, and closing
  • Partner with the processor on files to ensure loans close in a timely manner
  • Communicate with customers regularly to ensure they have a clear understanding of the process
  • Expand and regularly update knowledge base regarding RESPA, HMDA, MDIA, HVCC, Regulation B, Flood, and other regulations as applicable
  • Control loan files to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Expand and regularly update knowledge base regarding underwriting requirements for conventional, FHA, and VA loans
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience
  • 2 years' experience in mortgage loan origination, credit evaluation, underwriting, or processing.
  • Strong compliance understanding & problem solving skills related to residential loan origination
  • Exceptional Customer Service, highly motivated, focused, and goal oriented Preferred Experience (Optional)
  • Experience with existing referral sources & customer relationships
  • Experience using Encompass LOS System
  • Proficiency in Spanish language Supervisory Experience
  • None Education/Skills/Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills Equipment/Machines/Software
  • Excellent computer literacy in all Microsoft Programs (Outlook, IE 7 and 8 and other popular browsers, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Reader)
  • Ability to work with office equipment such as copiers, scanners, shredders, fax
  • Mortgage Software
  • Working knowledge of Android/iPhone software Competency Requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environment Must be able to hear and speak to communicate with customers
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to multi-task Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time and read from a computer screen
  • Must be able to type on a keyboard
