Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent Able to pass a Pre-Employment Background Investigation and Drug Test Minimum of two (2) years of related experience with fire sprikler systems Knowledge and understanding of NFPA codes and UFC standards for inspection, testing, and installation Valid driver's license with reliable transportation Ability to lift, measure, cut, install materials for small service/repair jobs Water Based Systems NICET certifications Level I, II, or III, or the willingness to obtain certification
Overview:
Sprinkler Technician duties include the inspection, testing, and maintenance of sprinkler systems, system components, and related equipment for the purpose of evaluating condition. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for identifying necessary repairs, recommending preventive maintenance, maintaining a regular inspection schedule, documenting activities, and correcting deficiencies as required. Sprinkler Job duties include assisting in the servicing, inspecting and testing of other fire protection systems, including fire alarm and mass notifications systems to the prescribed standards, performing some on-site troubleshooting and repairs, identifying code and non-conformance issues, and preparing accurate and timely inspections and reports. Special Consideration will be provided to those who have additional skills in: General Wet & Dry Sprinkler Systems General Fire Alarm & Mass Notification Systems NICET Standpipe Back Flow Fire Pump (electrical & diesel)
Pre-Action Systems Clean Agent Systems Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conduct inspection, testing, and maintenance of sprinkler systems, and related fire protection systems, including fire alarm systems, mass notification systems, special hazard systems, and related systems and equipment. Ensure systems are installed and functioning in accordance with appropriate laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards. Identify any condition or deficiencies that will make the system(s) non-compliant and/or alter the correct function of the system(s). Recommend actions to bring system(s) into compliance. Assist in the replacement of defective fire detection equipment and components. Assist in the troubleshooting of any "Off-Normal" conditions of the fire alarm, mass notification, and sprinkler systems. Maintains records by documenting inspection, testing, and maintenance reports. Keep abreast of current fire safety codes. Present and explain fire code requirements and fire prevention information to customers. Assist in the installation, modification, and repair of fire alarm, mass notification, and sprinkler systems, and related systems and equipment Assist in the commissioning of new fire alarm, mass notification, sprinkler systems, and special hazard systems. $50,000 to $80,000 (based on experience)
